It is estimated 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop an invasive form of breast cancer during their lifetime. While the rates of new cases have significantly declined since 2000, there are more than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. In addition to chemotherapy, the survival rate is largely due to the use of a mastectomy, which involves removing the diseased tissue. While it is effective, many women are left feeling insecure about their appearance. To improve their confidence more than half choose to undergo breast reconstruction surgery. In addition to rebuilding the tissue, many are also turning to a 3D nipple tattoo in Tysons Corner.
